12 days ago   |   By Business Insider

Spain will reopen its doors to tourists from 'late June,' a minister has said.
The government last week introduced a 14-day quarantine period for visitors entering the country, which it plans to lift next month.
'From late June, we'll start the tourism activity, I hope,' said tourism minister Jose Luis Abalos.
The coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed 27,563 deaths in Spain, one of the highest death tolls in Europe.
Italy's government also said on Monday it would start to reopen the country to tourists in June.

The Spanish government will next week approve a basic income programme which will provide a guaranteed income for poorer Spaniards.

Spain's Economy Minister said that, if the scheme proves effective, the government hopes that it 'stays forever, that it becomes a structural instrument, a permanent instrument.'
